It's Thanksgiving evening 2009. With our daughter Ann's encouraging promise - that getting a blog up and running on blogspot.com is do-able - here goes! We're a Montana couple heading for Australia in just a few days for our third visit "down under". We were in New Zealand about 10 years ago for a month and in SE Australia 3 years ago for three months. The "plan" has us departing Monday morning November 30th - arriving in Perth Wednesday December 2. On route, we'll cross the International Date Line and virtually "lose" a Tuesday. "No worries" - we'll "find" it in February on our way home.
During 1 of the next 3 days, we'll celebrate an early Christmas with our son Michael, his wife and 2 of our 5 grandchildren. Then, on Sunday we'll prepare our home to be on its own for "12 weeks of winter" and spend the night at one of our dear friend's home. This makes it much easier to check-in at the airport by 6AM.
Gotta go for now; it's time to at least think about doing some packing. R n R
